The show has connected fans to music they may never have heard before. But it also has an eerie sense of timing, almost like a pop culture Nostradamus, when it comes to musicians’ deaths.
Amidst recent reports that Bee Gees lead vocalist Robin Gibb was recovering after emerging from a coma last month came the news Sunday night (May 20) that he passed away. The disco star, age 62, had long suffered from colon and liver cancer. Now artists from across the music world have taken to Twitter to honor Gibb, who along with his brothers Barry and Maurice founded one of the biggest bands of 1970s. Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, The Script, Bryan Adams and many more expressed their sadness of Gibb’s passing over Twitter.
Robin Gibb, a founding member of the Bee Gees who helped propel the group to international stardom, has died in England. He was 62.
Break out those bellbottoms and lace up those platform boots because tonight “Glee’s” gonna burn that mother down! Yep, the show’s gone disco for an episode dedicated to “Saturday Night Fever.”
