Nick Jonas could be the next American Idol judge. Mariah Carey is in — but who will take over for American Idol judges Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson? We’re hearing singer Nick Jonas and N.E.R.D. rapper Pharrell Williams are the frontrunners. American Idol producers think Jonas can help bring a younger demo to the show. While Williams will add credibility because he’s been in the business for decads and has produced hit records for Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Gwen Stefani.

New Orleans Police have issued an arrest warrant for actor Cuba Gooding Jr. Police say he was involved in a fight with a bartender in the French Quarter Tuesday morning. The female bartender told police Gooding stopped by around 3 a.m., and soon became “very aggravated” with other bar patrons who had recognized him and wanted to take photos with the actor. The bartender said she asked him to calm down, and that’s when he pushed her away.

The Today Show has been struggling in the ratings during the Olympics, so it’s bringing in some help! New Today host Savanah Guthrie isn’t doing well in the rating… so the Today Show is bringing in the big guns… HOda Kotb. Kotb was scheduled to take vacation, but wound up being summoned across the pond to contribute. On a sad note, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts has taken early than expected time off the show because she’s been feeling sick during her cancer treatment.

Rapper Snoop Dog is changing his name to Snoop Lion. Snoop Dogg says he was “born again” during a visit to Jamaica… and is changing his name to Snoop Lion because he thinks he’s a reincarnation of Bob Marley. He also says he is embracing the Jamaica religion and is now a Rastafarian.

Lindsay Lohan recently made a really bizarre nude scene demand. Lindsay Lohan was EXTREMELY nervous about shooting a steamy sex scene for her new movie “The Canyons.” But she relaxed after the crew fulfilled her unusual request.   Sources say LiLo asked them to strip down with her … to their boxers.  The crew was hesitant at first — but eventually obliged.
