Q104 invites you to celebrate Summer at Cleveland Metroparks “Summer Beach Party” Saturday, August 4th from 5 to 11 at Huntington Beach in Bay Village.

Kids can enjoy beach games from 5 to 8 p.m. with a variety of beach games and activities, including: a scavenger hunt, shake-n-bake contest, water balloon toss, relay races, hula hoop contests, beach blanket bingo, limbo, and more. Prizes will be awarded.

As day turns to night, warm up at the campfire and enjoy the ever-entertaining Musical Mark at 8 p.m.

And, don’t forget to bring beach blankets and beach chairs for the 8:45 p.m. movie on the beach – “Back to the Future.”

Some people make little bucket sand castles. Carl Jara builds mounds of sand and creates a specially-theme sand sculpture for Cleveland Metroparks “Summer Beach Party” on Saturday, August 4.

Visit throughout the day to watch Carl Jara’s progress, and enjoy the free “Summer Beach Party” event from 5 to 11 p.m. at Huntington Beach in Huntington Reservation in Bay Village.

Carl Jara is a local prodigy and has been featured twice on The Travel Channel. Jara has won just about every honor there is to win as a master sand sculptor. He is the only sculptor ever to have won more than one Sculptors Choice Award at the World Championships. Jara has competed in eleven countries, more than two dozen states and continues to make a living “playing in the sand.” In addition to sand sculpting, Jara works for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History as the Exhibits Artisan/Technician.

As Jara finishes “playing in the sand,” the “Summer Beach Party” officially kicks off at 5 p.m. Beach-goers can enjoy activities from 5 to 8 p.m. with a sand castle-building area for visitors to try their hand, musical entertainment by the Calypso Gypsies Steel Drum Band, a fishing demonstration area with Cleveland Metroparks staff, live animals from Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, a dive team exhibit with Cleveland Metroparks Rangers, and more!
