33-year old Nik Wallenda walked from the American side of the falls to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls on a cable wire suspended over the waters.

The historical event was aired live on ABC. Wallenda is the first person ever to cross over the falls.

The daredevil was supported by a safety harness attached to the cable-wire. This was the first time he’s ever used a device like that and disagreed on using it for this stunt at first. However, his father eventually talked him into it.

Facts about the American side of Niagara Falls:

-   176 feet tall

-      150,000 gallons per second

Facts about the Canadian side of Niagara Falls:

-      167 feet tall

600,000 gallons per second
