One Direction have been busy promoting their debut album Up All Night but that hasn’t kept them from keeping their fans in the know. In their most recent video diaries the band takes fans behind the scenes of award show dress rehearsals and their Saturday Night Live performance.

“Tonight was one of those things that was quite a legendary thing to do and something that you felt honored to do as well. Not many people can say that they’ve been on Saturday Night Live and especially at our age. Doing the skit as well was so much fun and performing our music,” Liam Payne said.

Liam went on to express his gratitude to his fans and surprise at the band’s success.

“We thought we’d release it the U.K. but never ever get to a point where we’d be performing on one of the biggest TV shows in America that’s watched by so many millions of viewers,” he said.

“It’s mad that we got to this point. That’s why I came home and went straight onto the web cam because I thought that it was important that we went on and said hi to the fans and thank you very much for getting us to where we are because it’s literally all about the fans.”

Meanwhile, in the video clip “One Direction in America” the boys let fans in on the ideas behind their Kids Choice Awards performance. Watch while choreographer Wade Robson teaches them dance moves and his team explain the theme behind their performance.
